3. Story and Background |
Q. Does the story in the expansion pack relate to JA2 in any way? A. Yes. It's a continuation of Jagged Alliance 2's story and takes place just after the liberation of Arulco. Q. What is the premise in Unfinished Business? A. The country of Arulco has fallen under a new threat. Ricci Mining and Exploration, the company that ran Arulco's mines before the recent civil war, wants those mines back. The corporation has established a base in the neighboring country of Tracona and used it to launch a deadly missile attack on Arulco. If their demands are not met, they are prepared to destroy the entire country. Enrico Chivaldori, the leader of the newly-free Arulco, has decided on a swift and devasting response-you. Your team of expert mercenaries will cross the border into Tracona, locate the missile base, destroy it, and get out alive. The fate of a nation is on your shoulders, but the power of battlefield experience is on your side. Q. Can you import characters from Jagged Alliance 2? A. Yes you can. If you do this, you'll start the game with your I.M.P. character. Also, while you would have to re-hire the rest of your team, all A.I.M. and M.E.R.C. mercenaries will have retained any statistical improvements made during Jagged Alliance 2 (up until the time of the saved game of course). All characters inventories will be reset. Additionally, this will slightly affect the difficulty level of the game to take into account the mercenaries improved abilities. Q. I didn't save my game when I finished Jagged Alliance 2; in fact I'm not sure it was possible. What do I do? A. It was not possible to save the game once you had finished it. You'll have to use a save from before that point or play the expansion pack without importing characters from Jagged Alliance 2. |
4. Gameplay |
Q. Will the expansion pack include a multiplayer option? A. No. We'd rather design a game around multiplayer rather than try to cram it into a single player game. We are designing Jagged Alliance 3 with multiplayer in mind. Q. Will the gameplay in the expansion pack be exactly the same as Jagged Alliance 2? A. Yes and no. While it definitely has the same tactical combat style as Jagged Alliance 2, the strategic layer has changed. For example, in Jagged Alliance 2 Unfinished Business, you won't have to worry about liberating towns, acquiring mine income, training militia or town loyalty. The expansion pack is more linear than Jagged Alliance 2, not unlike the demo for Jagged Alliance 2 - except with a lot more gameplay and a few twists. Q. Are there any new tactical features? A. Yes. We've added a new feature to the interface that will help you find the best areas of "cover" for any given merc. This is handy as it can avoid mistakes made as a result of misinterpretation of an isometric viewing angle. A. Yes. We've added at least 10 new weapons. Q. Are there any new characters? A. Yes. There are at least 10 new characters in Jagged Alliance 2 : Unfinished Business. Q. Will any of the new characters be "familiar" to Jagged Alliance fans? A. Maybe. :) |
